28, 2001 - ASI/Silica Machinery, LLC Opens Customer
Training Center
Woodland Hills, CA - ASI/Silica Machinery, LLC
today announced the opening of a new Customer
Training Center at its North Hills, California
Research & Development and Customer Demonstration
Center. This facility will be used to train
its customers' process engineers and technicians
in the use of ASI/Silica Machinery's state of
the art outside vapor deposition (OVD) and sintering
equipment prior to delivery to the customer's
optical fiber manufacturing plant.
In order to accommodate its increased R&D and
the Customer Training Center, ASI/Silica Machinery
has increased its office space at the North
Hills facility by more than 50%. According to
Ed Connor, Chief Executive Officer of the Company,
"This new Customer Training Center will allow
us to improve our service to our customers,
enabling them to better utilize our machines
and reap their benefits faster than ever. Co-locating
with our existing R&D and Customer Demonstration
facilities will enable our customers to get
hands on experience with our equipment in a
manufacturing environment while having continuous
access to our engineers."
ASI/Silica Machinery, LLC was formed in 1997
with a mission to provide high quality and cost
effective capital equipment to manufacturers
of optical fiber and fused silica preforms.
Their equipment enables makers of optical fiber
preforms to lower their cost of manufacturing
when compared to other commercially available
alternatives.
