LOS ANGELES, CA, November 3, 2010 – An Asian fiber manufacturer is exclusively using ASI/Silica Machinery equipment and process to achieve 300 metric tons per year of single mode fiber preforms (over 10,000,000 fiber km). ASI continues to lower the cost of producing fiber with their latest core and clad preform manufacturing equipment and processes. The lowest cost producer of optical fiber in the world today is powered by ASI/Silica Machinery equipment!
Our innovative Dual Spindle Deposition System produces two preforms at a time, more than doubling the km/hr output of our previous model, with the additional ability to produce preforms more than double the previous size. Our Sintering System offers a unique furnace construction that provides both lower operating costs and a fast heating rate.
ASI/Silica Machinery’s newly introduced VAD core machine and process along with our OVD core machine and process, which first entered commercial use in 2003, allows our customers to meet market demands in any part of the world.
